Self Love Challenge - Day 4

Hey hey! So yesterday we took time to reflect on all the good things that have happened this year and today’s journal prompt is all about planning for the future.


See below for a reminder of the rules and the journal prompt for today.


Rules -

  • Journal each day using the prompt given.

  • Post a pic on instagram that accompanies the prompt (not required)

  • Complete at least 30 minutes of some physical activity that makes you feel good. That could be yoga, running, taking a walk, doing an online dance class. Whatever it is, just make sure you are moving intentionally for at least 30 minutes.

Journal Prompt: Write down your goal(s) for the rest of the year.


5 reasons why goal setting is important in your personal life:


  1. They help you believe in yourself

  2. They propel you forward

  3. They help you to focus on what you want to be or where you want to go

  4. They help you achieve your highest potential

  5. They makes you accountable

Now, it's not just enough to jot down some vague ideas for where you want to be at the end of the year, we have to make sure that these goals are SMART. Your goals need to be clear and reachable. Each one should encompass these things:

  • Specific (simple, sensible, significant).

  • Measurable (meaningful, motivating).

  • Achievable (agreed, attainable).

  • Relevant (reasonable, realistic and resourced, results-based).

  • Time bound (time-based, time limited, time/cost limited, timely, time-sensitive)

By ensuring that each goal has the elements of a SMART goal, you are setting yourself up for success. This will allow you to check back on your progress, adjust as needed and most importantly, hold yourself accountable.

So here are my goals for the remainder of 2020:

  1. Post on my blog at least once a week

  2. By end of August - complete website switch and rebranding

  3. By end of August - launch my design freelance business

  4. By end of September - complete Udemy courses that I signed up for.

  5. By end of October - Create 2 ebooks for this site

  6. By end of October - lose 15 lbs

  7. By end of December - read 3 book

  8. By end of December - have completed two paid brand deals


Now that you have your goals in place the next step is to action plan. What steps will you take to ensure that you will reach these goals? By breaking the goal down in to smaller action steps you are giving yourself a road map to achieving them. Check out this site for a bunch of different templates that can help you goal set and action plan.


With all the uncertainty around, now is as good a time as any to invest in yourself. Take control of the rest of this year and make these last 5 1/2 months the best months ever. I know that's what I plan to do. Here's to a great rest of 2020!
